this panel is from the devilishly good story "to beat the devil" which appears in dc comics Strange sports stories published in 1973. written by frank robbins. art by curt swan and Dick Giodarno.
I dunno why, but the title "beat the devil" reminds me of the movie, "Before the Devil knows you're dead", with Dustin Hoffman and Ethan Hawk. Great movie, you should watch it.
I actually had that comic, I remember it well. It was some weird collection of sports stories that was kind of scary for a little kid, but I read it all the time.
the dollar bin will eventually be the blog of the podcast i hope to make which will review weird obscure small print comics that i've found in dollar bins at comic stores around the country. Thats not to say it will be limited to just that but will most likely include reviews of books and movies i like as well as other pop culture stuff.

Wow, Satan in a baseball uniform! You have such esoteric comics.
Satan acts tough, but inside you know he wishes he had friends who would play on his team.
Great comics

Wow, that movie is on next on my Netflix queue. How queer.
It's sort of funny having Satan in America's pasttime's uniform, sort of a full circle event with so much controversy with baseball and HGH.

According to what I've read, he can really put some heat on the ball.

Hey, wait! I think that is my boy at little league practice. Just kidding........maybe. Tee Hee :)
Wow. It makes me wonder who was reading those comics, and why...
Those comic strips artists must have been having a harsh trip on the day they drew that one.
